Firearm Parts Coating Services for Manufacturers/OEMs
Firearm Parts Coating Services for Manufacturers/OEMsÂ
WMD Guns is one of the best nickel boron coating services operating today because we were instrumental in bringing the technology to the market. We’re proud to offer outsourced metal plating services to manufacturers who demand the best for their products.
WMD Guns is run by the team that innovated the application of nickel boron to firearm components. We’ve been doing this for over 14 years, and we’ve perfected the process with our proprietary NiB-X® nickel boron formula.Â
With our extensive manufacturing and gunsmithing expertise, we can even serve as a partner in product development to help you reach new levels of firearm and component performance.
We apply all of our coatings in-house using proven equipment and techniques. Our facilities are certified to strict industry standards for quality assurance, and our exclusive formulas meet high performance standards as well — our proprietary nickel boron (NiB) finish, NiB-X®, is certified to ASTM B607 and/or AMS2433C, while Nitromet conforms to ASTM 2753.
Our Nickel Boron Plating Services for Firearm Part OEMs and Manufacturers
Beware of imitators.
Since its first use as a plating material in the 1960s, nickel boron has undergone multiple refinements to make it better for specific applications. WMD Guns uses an exclusive formulation that provides the best possible lubricity and hardness.Â
Some firearm parts finishers still use DMAB nickel boron, a softer version that’s readily solderable and best suited for electronics. Others use generation 3 NiB, which is only marginally harder because it contains as little as 2.5% boron. Our proprietary blend, NiB-X®, contains 5-6% boron, giving it an exponentially harder surface.Â
NiB-X® delivers a hardness of 70+ on the Rockwell scale to resist scratching, chipping and flaking. It also boasts a .06 coefficient of friction for excellent lubricity — exactly what you want for a gun’s internals — and is extremely resistant to chemical and heat damage.Â
When you’re looking for a nickel boron plating company, you need a reliable partner who knows how to choose the best NiB formula for the application. That’s what you get with WMD Guns.Â
Your Experienced Team for Gun Parts Finishing
Getting the best results from a coated gun part demands a plating service with an in-depth understanding of both the coating formula and the component’s function and operating conditions. It also requires a harder formulation, such as NiB-X®, as well as a breadth of knowledge that spans multiple disciplines. WMD Guns unites chemists, engineers and gunsmiths to apply that knowledge to every project.
Our team is already responsible for many of the nickel boron plated firearm components on the market today. We offer post-manufacture plating services for OEMs and consult on the application and use of our proprietary NiB-X® for companies with their own coating lines.
Our team offers the following OEM coating and plating services for gun parts:
- NiB-X® nickel boron
- Nitromet
- Electroless nickel with teflon
- Black electroless nickel with boron nitride
- Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) film
- Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) film
- Ceramic gun coatings
If you’re looking for a partner capable of delivering high-volume gun parts coating services, we’re ready to discuss your project.
